BA bans two from cokepit

A PILOT and cabin crew boss were banned from a British Airways flight after being accused of taking drugs.

The two were taken off duty after a member of the public claimed he saw them using cocaine and cannabis at a party.

The complaint on the morning of a flight from Heathrow to Nigeria led to the entire crew being stood down and a replacement BA team being assigned to fly the plane.

Security

The informant also claimed to have photographs of the alleged drug-taking at the party — 48 hours before the flight was due to leave — and BA ordered a massive security probe.

The pilot was given an intensive series of tests but 24 hours later was found to be totally clear of illegal substances.

The cabin crew director refused to be tested and resigned.

A source said the claims against the pilot, who had an unblemished record, were “totally malicious”. No photos were ever produced.

The source added: “We had no alternative but to stand the pilot down because we did not have time to process the results of the tests before take-off. But he was completely clear.”

18 drug sailors held on warship

EIGHTEEN crewmen on a Royal Navy warship have tested positive for class A drugs.
The bust, the biggest in Navy history, is believed to have been for cocaine.

It took place on HMS Liverpool — which has been guarding the Falkland Islands — after crew had a “run ashore” during a break in Brazil.

The 18 are expected to be removed from the ship, flown back to Britain and kicked out of the Navy. The bust has horrified top brass.

A senior Royal Navy source said: “The worst aspect of this scandal is that HMS Liverpool is supposed to be guarding the Falkland Islands and such a large drugs bust hardly does wonders “The idea of a coked-up rating on board a warship with access to such powerful weapons does not bear thinking about. This is a total embarrassment for the senior service.”

The Type 42 destroyer is nearing the end of a six-month deployment in the South Atlantic.

Test
A compulsory drugs test was ordered after the crew — which totals 240 — had a “run ashore” on a break in the port of Santos, Brazil.

It is expected that the 18 ratings will be replaced — by other personnel who will be flown out at huge cost to taxpayers.

Ironically HMS Liverpool, armed with guided missiles and a 4.5inch gun, has seized drugs worth millions of pounds on patrols in the Caribbean.

Last night a senior Navy officer said: “Notwithstanding the numbers involved in this single unprecedented incident, which is being treated very seriously, it hasn’t affected the ship’s ability to do its job.” The Navy has kept a presence in the South Atlantic since the Falklands War in 1982 when 247 British servicemen died winning back the islands from invading Argentines.

The bust comes after five soldiers from the King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery got the boot for taking cocaine — and eight from the 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers tested positive for cannabis and coke.

Mike Critchley of Warship World magazine said: “The opportunity for a run ashore in Brazil would be a great treat. Someone doubtlessly offered crew members drugs and they fell to temptation.”

The Ministry of Defence said: “Action is being taken against the individuals involved. We will continue to root out the few bad apples that let the rest down.”

Davina: Most BB romances fake

BIG Brother romances are mostly PHONEY, show host Davina McCall has sensationally admitted

The presenter spoke out after the slanging match between Jen and her family about the housemate’s apparently fake love for Dale.

Davina, 40, said: “I’ve definitely thought that some BB relationships were formed just for the publicity.

“The cynic in me could think, ‘Oh look, they’re in all the magazines now together’.”

But amazingly she reckons the tacky romance of 21-year-olds busty Bex and nerd Luke WAS real — despite their “marriage” in Las Vegas proving to be just a publicity stunt.

She said: “I kind of love Bex and Luke, because they would never look at each other and think, ‘We’re going to get together just for that reason’.

“It was almost as if it was against their will that they liked each other.

“But with other couples, and I’m not going to single anybody out, if you’ve got your cynical hat on, you could think, ‘Well, they’re going to make a lot of money out of being in that magazine’. But you know what? I don’t care. I still love reading it.

“Even if they just go on two holidays together, because that’ll be my reading for a couple of weeks — cheers!”

Davina’s comments — made in today’s Heat magazine — come as Jen, 22, and Dale, 21, spent another afternoon posing for the cameras ... sorry, enjoying each other’s company
The duo spent yesterday splashing around on holiday in Spain, as intrigued onlookers were treated to plenty of flirting and posing from the “lovebirds”.

One said: “It was difficult to say whether it was all genuine as one minute they were all over each other and the next they were sitting in silence.

“But on the surface they looked like quite a cute couple. They’ve both got great bodies.”

We revealed last week how Jen’s family had been arguing over whether the relationship was real.

Her estranged husband David is convinced she still loves him and is with Dale to make cash.

But her dad Gary Smith insisted the romance was genuine.

The Funeral Service

A funeral service is being held for a woman who has just passed away.
At the end of the service the pall bearers are carrying the casket out when they accidentally bump into a wall, jarring the casket. They hear a faint moan. They open the casket and find that the woman is actually alive.
She lives for ten more years, and then dies. A ceremony is again held at the same place, and at the end of the ceremony the pall bearers are again carrying out the casket.
As they are walking, the husband cries out, "Watch out for the blessed wall!'''

Grandpa will pay

Grandpa will payWalking up to a department store's fabric counter, a pretty girl asked, "I want to buy this material for a new dress. How much does it cost?""Only one kiss per yard, " replied the smirking male clerk."That's fine," replied the girl. "I'll take ten yards."With expectation and anticipation written all over his face, the clerk hurriedly measured out and wrapped the cloth, then held it out teasingly. The girl snapped up the package and pointed to a little old man standing beside her."Grandpa will pay the bill," she smiled

50/50 Marriage

A young man saw an elderly couple sitting down to lunch at McDonalds. He noticed that they had ordered one meal, and an extra drink cup. As he watched, the gentleman carefuly divided the hamburger in half, then counted out the fries, one for him, one for her, until each had half of them. Then he poured half of the soft drink into the extra cup and set that in front of his wife. The old man then began to eat, and his wife sat watching, with her hands folded in her lap. The young man decided to ask if they would allow him to purchase another meal for them so that they didn't have to split theirs. The old gentleman said, "Oh no. We've been married 50 years, and every thing has always been and will always be shared, 50/50." The young man then asked the wife if she was going to eat, and she replied, " not yet. It's his turn with the teeth."
